About Us
A Legacy That Began in 1823
Our journey began in 1823, when Delhi was not just a city, but a living, breathing tehzeeb. During the Mughal era, Jahanara Begum, daughter of Shah Jahan, nurtured the historic lanes of Ballimaran, creating a marketplace where women could celebrate suhaag, shringaar, and beauty.
It was in these very lanes, surrounded by poetry, culture, and royal artistry, that our ancestors from the Manihar community laid the foundation of what would become a timeless legacy; a small chudi shop built on skill, dedication, and love for the craft.
What began as a humble store in the narrow bylanes of Old Delhi gradually became something much greater.
With every passing generation, our family carried forward the delicate art of churi-making, preserving its colours, textures, and the unmistakable charm of handcrafted bangles. Each piece was not just created, but carefully brought to life with patience, precision, and pride.
Time changed. Delhi evolved. Generations passed.
But our craft, and our commitment to it, never changed.
For over two centuries, we have created more than just bangles.
We have been a part of weddings, festivals, celebrations, and everyday moments. Our bangles have adorned the hands of countless women, becoming a small yet meaningful part of their stories.
Today, Babu Churi Wala GK is proudly led by the 7th generation of the same family.
While the world around us continues to evolve, our values remain rooted in:
- Authentic craftsmanship
- Attention to detail
- And a deep respect for tradition
At the same time, we embrace modern sensibilities, offering customisation, refined designs, and a seamless experience for today’s customers.
